Dating back to 1909, the Tillamook Cheese Factory has been an Oregon landmark for over 100 years. The Tillamook County Creamery Association is 100% farmer-owned and has been around for more than 100 years.
Stop in to the visitors center to learn about how the farm's history and processes.
Everyone is invited to take a free, self-guided tour of the production facility.
You'll get a great view of the factory from above, so you can view the cheesemaking and natural aging processes first hand.
The facility produces 171,000 pounds of cheese each day, made from ultra fresh milk that comes straight from the farm. That's a lot of cheese!
The sights will surely get your taste buds tingling, but not to worry! You'll get to top off the tour with some delicious samples. Stop at the tasting bar to try a variety of great cheese made right there. Which flavor is your favorite?
You'll also want to stop in to the market to pick up all kinds of amazing cheeses, dairy products, tshirts, and more.
Afterwards, celebrate with a scoop of Tillamook ice cream in a hand made waffle cone! You can also get a snack from the Creamery Cafe or the fudge counter.
