Oregon is full of one-of-a-kind accommodations that are more than merely places to rest your head; they offer experiences that you simply can't have anywhere else. From lofty lookout towers and decked-out treehouses to iconic Airbnbs and pup-friendly boutique hotels, Oregon is positively teeming with bucket-list-level accommodations. One of the most unique we've found, however, is the Bowline Hotel in Astoria, Oregon, a converted cannery that offers guests gorgeous accommodations and million-dollar views.
Astoria is one of the most charming towns along the Oregon Coast, and the Bowline Hotel sits in the heart of it all. Located just steps away from the iconic Oregon Film Museum, this unique hotel offers guests a front-row seat to some of the best attractions, restaurants, and coastal vistas in the state.
As if that weren't enough, the Bowline Hotel also boasts some of the most unique accommodations in Oregon. A former cannery, the Bowline Hotel's transformation into a boutique hotel is, frankly, incredible.
The hotel features 40 rooms, but we're partial to The Ice House, which, contrary to its moniker, is anything but icy.
On the contrary, The Ice House is a warm and welcoming accommodation with charming features sure to make you swoon. Does it get any cozier than a crackling, wood-burning fire? We think not.
There are two Ice House suites at the hotel; the Luxe Ice House King can accommodate two guests, while four can stay at the larger Ice House Suite. Both options are well appointed, with luxurious features that belie the rooms' humble roots.
This former cannery-turned-hotel also boasts an amazing on-site restaurant. A homage to the bounty of the Beaver State, The Knot features Oregon grown fare, local spirits, and epic Columbia River views.
And because it's on the Oregon Coast, you might even see some friendly neighbors during your stay!
These are the sweeping waterfront vistas that await from The Ice House.
Come and curl up by the window, cup of coffee (or glass of wine!) in hand, and let your mind wander and drift, slowly and peacefully, just like the ebb and flow of the tide along the Oregon Coast.
Can't you just picture yourself here?!
What's the most unique place you've ever stayed at in Oregon? Definitely add the Bowline Hotel in Astoria to your Oregon bucket list! For more information on this perfect little accommodation, visit the Bowline Hotel website.
