Tucked deep in the mountains of southwest Oklahoma is Cache Creek Falls - a stunning waterfall that is rarely seen in person because you have to hike to get to it. The Forty Foot Hole is only accessible by a rugged trail in the Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge and it's so worth the trek to see this natural wonder. So, if you're interested in lacing up those hiking boots and exploring deep canyon walls, breathtaking waterfalls, and beautiful wildlife, I encourage you to read on to learn all about this one-of-a-kind Oklahoma waterfall hike.

The Forty Foot Hole in the Wichita Mountain Wildlife is a hidden gem that rarely gets seen in person because it's only accessible by hiking to it. The trail with a waterfall is inside the canyon walls and was carved by Cache Creek running through it.

The fastest route to the waterfall is by taking Kite Tail. This is part of the Dog Run Hollow trail system. The easiest way to find the trailhead is to stop at the visitor center and get a map and they'll show you the best route to these unique waterfall trails in Oklahoma.

While these Oklahoma trails are only 2.4 miles roundtrip and rated as easy, there are cliffs and rocky terrain too. Therefore, I encourage you to take note that it is not all flat and to wear proper shoes.

Be sure to carry the trail map with you since some of the side trails can get you closer to Cache Creek Falls than others.

The hike along these waterfall trails in Oklahoma will take you about two hours. However, allow some extra time to enjoy the scenery and waterfall. If you are taking dogs or children, please note that many cliff edges are not guarded. You'll also want to bring your camera to capture the stunning landscapes along these Oklahoma trails.

Of course, we have our famous Turner Falls, but we found a few others where the flowing water will calm your mind. These gorgeous hidden waterfalls in Oklahoma are tucked away in nature and in some of the state's prettiest parks, and are promised to leave you feeling relaxed and rejuvenated no matter when you visit:

Located in Chickasaw National Recreation Area, this spring offers a hiking trail right along the side of it.

Found in the Wichita Mountains, this area is a great place to get away and enjoy the sound of rushing water. While this little cascade isn't one of the biggest waterfalls in Oklahoma, it's definitely worth a visit for its unique location.

The most popular falls in Chickasaw National Recreation Area can be found in Travertine. Enjoy swimming in the ice-cold water and then relaxing in the shade afterward.
