The small town of Marion, known for its significant popcorn production, transforms into a popcorn wonderland every September. The Marion Popcorn Festival is a must-visit for both popcorn and festival lovers. Here's why this one-of-a-kind festival is worth a weekend road trip:
The Marion Popcorn Festival is a 3-day event that takes place in the heart of downtown Marion. It celebrates everyone's favorite snack.
Marion County is one of America's top popcorn producers. Additionally, the town of Marion-based company Wyandot, Inc. is one of the largest exporters of popcorn in the world.
This year's festival takes place on September 5 - 7 from 11 a.m. - midnight each day. You'll encounter all sorts of popcorn varieties here.
Don't worry; there's plenty of other delicious grub here as well.
The Marion Popcorn Festival Parade is quite a sight to see. It takes place on Thursday evening at 6 p.m. This year's theme is "Celebrating Super Heroes."
The first Marion Popcorn Festival took place in 1981. Today, more than 250,000 attend this unique festival.
The Main Stage Entertainment is always a hit. You'll also want to check out the Community Showcase Stage for a variety of entertainment.
