There’s nothing more “American summer” than July 4th fireworks. These pyrotechnic displays are often part of local day- or weekend-long festivals that invite folks to come and celebrate America’s special day. Ohio certainly hosts her fair share of Independence Day festivals, and today I’m sharing fan favorites in all corner of the state. So no matter where in Ohio you’re located, if you’re curious about where to watch fireworks near me, read on.

1. Centerville – Washington Township Americana Festival

Hailed as Ohio’s largest single-day festival, the Centerville-Washington Township Americana Festival is a fan-favorite 4th of July festival in the Greater Dayton area. Fireworks, festivities, and food make this a family favorite; for 2024, get ready for a spectacular fireworks display at Centerville High School Stadium, 500 E. Franklin Street, on Wednesday, July 3rd. As you enter the stadium, you’ll be greeted by a diverse array of food vendors offering delicious treats, and you can immerse yourself in the vibrant tunes of live music. On Thursday, July 4th, the festivities continue with a dynamic lineup of events, including a 5K, parade, street fair, live entertainment, car show, and array of food trucks.

Held annually in the quaint college town of Oxford, Ohio, the Oxford Freedom Festival is the perfect combination of food, fun, and fireworks. The 2024 Oxford Freedom Festival happens July 3 from 5-10:30 p.m. at Oxford Community Park.

4. Stars & Stripes On The River

Every year, the Zanesville Jaycees host the annual Stars and Stripes On the River in Zanesville, Ohio. The event takes place on July 3rd & July 4th at Zane’s Landing Park and is a community wide event with live music, great food, and activities for kids of all ages. The two-day event culminates with a spectacular July 4th fireworks display at dusk that’s nothing short of magical.
