It's time to get outside! For some that might mean a visit to Ohio's lakes. For others it might just mean a nightly walk through the neighborhood. Whatever gets you excited about warmer weather, we encourage you to enjoy it! And if you're not entirely sure what to do, consider visiting this beautiful preserve where you can find a great family-friendly hike straight to a gorgeous waterfall!
Welcome to Charleston Falls Preserve in Tipp City, where you'll find more than 216 acres of prairie and forests perfect for hiking and exploring.
The preserve has over 3 miles of trails and each offers a great way to see the many natural habitats that exist here.
But you don't need to learn everything about it before you go. There are informational placards here that will tell you (and the kids!) what you expect.
And while we love exploring the whole place, when we've got little legs with us we head straight for the Charleston Falls Loop.
The 1.8-mile trail is smooth and includes fun boardwalks that kids love.
The route is beautiful and offers lots to see, but this is one situation where the destination is definitely the best part!
If you visit just after a rain storm, you'll probably be able to hear the falls before you arrive!
The rock strata of Charleston Falls is the same as that of Niagara Falls, which means this one is often referred to as Ohio's "Miniature Niagara."
The flow of water plummets 37-feet before joining back with the Great Miami River.
This beautiful sight feels a lot like visiting a secret oasis. Kids love that aspect and you'll love how excited they are!
