When life gets a bit too hectic to handle, it's important to step back and remember the important things. Time with loved ones and with the natural world is important to pencil in whenever you can. Thankfully for those who live in Northern California, you don't have to search long for a suitable getaway spot! Tucked away in the forest is a historic cabin from nearly a century ago. It's been fully resorted and packed with amenities to make your stay as cozy as possible. When the mountains are calling your soul, this incredible cabin rental is definitely the place to go.
Loaded with rustic charm and tucked away in the woods, this Airbnb cabin is quite possibly the mountain getaway of your dreams. And the fact that it's available for just $92 a night makes it that much better!
This cozy "old Kingvale" cabin was originally built in the 1930s. Kingvale is a charming, quiet community located just west of Truckee. The small community consists of many cabins that were built during the '30s and '40s. Many of them have been owned for generations, so getting to actually stay in one yourself is a rare treat.
It may have been built nearly a century ago, but this cabin has been updated to include everything you could possibly need for a memorable stay. Inside, you'll be immersed in a warm atmosphere complete with a wooden log staircase, sleeping loft, newly renovated kitchen, and a snug living room.
Equipped with two bedrooms, the cabin can comfortably accommodate up to six guests. On those days that you feel like staying inside, you can pass your time snuggling up beside the fireplace, enjoying the collection of board games, or relaxing with a good book on the futon.
Of course, you'll find all sorts of adventure waiting to be had outside! Guests are welcome to explore the Kingvale community via walking or bicycle. There are plenty of local hiking trails nearby. The river is just a stone's throw away, as well.
One important thing to note is that the Kingvale cabin is a completely unplugged experience with no WiFi or television. There is reliable cell service, but prepare to relax and enjoy the natural world during your stay. Guests should also plan on bringing their own food. Local dining options are slim, but there's a well-stocked market in Soda Springs.
Summer or winter, fall or spring, you'll be utterly charmed by your time at this historic cabin in Northern California. Head on over to the Airbnb listing to see more photos and to book your stay!
