There's so much to love about the holiday season. Whether it's the delicious food or the jolly music that gets you excited for the holidays, there's something for everybody to love about this time of year. For many, it's the holiday light displays. After all, there are few things more enchanting than millions upon millions of glowing lights. Northern California is home to quite a few epic displays, but one of the most famous is the one at Candy Cane Lane and the adjacent Lollipop Lane. If you want to check out some of the best drive-thru holiday lights in NorCal, then a visit to these spirited streets is a must.
When it comes to cruising through neighborhoods in search of beautiful holiday light displays, there are certainly a lot of options to choose from. Northern California is home to a lot of holiday spirit, but there's one street in particular that continually goes above and beyond: Candy Cane Lane.
Located in Vacaville, both Candy Cane Lane and Lollipop Lane (formerly known as Arlene Dr. and Shady Glen Ave.) are famous for their impressive display of Christmas lights during the holiday season. People travel from all over Solano County and beyond just to get a look at them. Let's just say Christmas in NorCal doesn't get much better than this.
That's because residents who live on these two streets really do the most when it comes to putting on a jolly and joyful show. Almost every house on the block dresses up for the occasion, creating the most magnificent display of Christmas lights you've ever seen.
Visitors are welcome to walk or drive through the two streets in order to partake in the merriment. This is a free neighborhood show and regularly brings out thousands of people each and every night. It's certainly one of the best drive-thru and walk-thru holiday lights in NorCal.
If you choose to experience this epic display on foot, you'll find that there's plenty of parking on Fruitvale Road. From there you can follow a small walking trail to Arlene Drive where you can then begin your stroll among the brightly lit houses.
Some houses even hand out holiday treats such as candy canes and hot chocolate! As a community-oriented event in which both residents and travelers come together to celebrate, this is truly what the Christmas spirit is all about.
Christmas lights on both Candy Cane and Lollipop Lane tend to go up the weekend or the week after Thanksgiving, so keep an eye out. This free, family-friendly experience is a must this holiday season.
