If you want to become a true, traveled North Dakotan who has been to every corner of the state and experienced all it has to offer outside of the home life, then this is the bucket list you need. From the tourist attractions to the true, local experience, this list covers it all. How many of these can you check off already?
1. Experience a North Dakota fair, whether it be Red River Valley Fair, the North Dakota State Fair, or a local county fair.
2. Visit the capitol in Bismarck. It's not just for school field trips - there's actually tons to do there.
3. Eat at a Kroll's Diner, or forever have their commercials stuck in your head!
4. Take a scenic drive on one of the many official scenic byways, or just a simple country road.
5. Stop by Medora and the Theodore Roosevelt National Park, where the buffalo really roam. They don't advertise it everywhere for no reason!
6. See all of the "world's largest" statues in North Dakota in person. Cheesy to some, yet surprisingly fun.
7. That includes a drive on the Enchanted Highway, of course.
8. Catch a college hockey game in Grand Forks...
9. ...And a college football game in Fargo
10. Go fishing on one of the lakes or rivers. There's plenty to visit and always plenty of fish.
11. Check out some of the awesome historical sites located all over the state. There are some amazing pieces of history out there.
12. See North Dakota's largest body of water, Lake Sakakawea, and visit the place that makes it exist: the Garrison Dam.
13. Take a country road out into the middle of nowhere on a cool summer night and stargaze. No telescope needed - there are thousands of stars visible to just the naked eye.
14. Tour the state's big cities...
15. ...And the small towns. You never know what hidden gems might be within them.
