Located in Annamoose, North Dakota awaits a charming and historic bed & breakfast known as Sage Hill.
Step inside, and you'll be delighted to find a charming and thoughtfully-appointed inn with all the amenities you'll need for a cozy stay. And yet...there's a chance you'll encounter something rather unexpected when you stay the night here.
The building was constructed in 1928 and originally served as a schoolhouse. Named The White School after Colonel Samuel White, the school was very progressive and was made up of approximately 100 students.
By 1968, the school had closed, and it wasn't until 1996 that a couple who dreamed of owning a bed & breakfast and restaurant decided to renovate the building.
Any time guests have encountered something paranormal, it's been more mischievous than spooky. Items will show up in unexpected places, causing guests to go on an impromptu scavenger hunt.

Why We Love It: It's taken several trips for me to figure out my perfect "weekender bag that's TSA approved," but I've found my perfect carry on with the TOBIQ Colorado 30L. Why I Love It: Fact: Airplanes are notoriously dry, dry, dry. No matter how much water I drink both before and during the flight, I always find myself in a hydration deficit for days. Garrison is a nice, quiet little town in McLean County on the shores of beautiful Lake Sakakawea. The inn is a stunning five-bedroom home originally built in 1917.
It's had many lives since then, from being a family home to becoming a convent to... well, everything else, and we kind of feel like this varied (but never dark!) history is part of what makes it such a fun place to stay.
From the moment you walk in, you'll be surrounded by old-world charm and a vintage comfort you won't find anywhere else.
Since there are only five rooms, it's a small, quiet, intimate experience that we recommend for all travelers, whether you're looking to have a solo self-care weekend or if you're looking for a romantic getaway with your person.

In the warmer months, one can expect festivals and various events in Garrison and on the lake, and in autumn, the changing color of the leaves surrounding the inn is beyond breathtaking.
