Now that spring has officially arrived in North Dakota, you can look forward to seeing beautiful flowers again all across the prairie. Not only will the wildflowers come back into bloom, but some of the state's garden attractions will open and be flourishing once again. Here is a charming botanical garden that is a true sight to be seen you won't want to miss seeing during the spring and summer:
You'll find a gorgeous, 6-acre botanical garden at the Yunker Farm Park in Fargo, North Dakota. It is right next to the Children's Museum that is also part of the park.
The Northern Plains Botanic Garden is a lovely afternoon destination on a nice, sunny day. Admission is free so you can come by and immediately stroll right into the gardens.
The garden has quite an array of plants and other features that bring together the prettiest bits of nature.
You can explore the six acres of paths, patios, and specific type of gardens at your own pace and just take in the sights and smells.
A future feature of the garden will be the Japanese garden. You can already walk under the cherry trees and up to the Japanese gate by visiting the Dry Garden section.
The woodland garden part will take you over a bridge and into the trees that host a variety of woodland plants and flowers.
The Northern Plains Botanic Garden also includes a chrysanthemum garden, rain garden, and even fun children's garden with flowers arranged in the letters of the alphabet. Need to sit and rest for a while? Stop by their hummingbird patio and see if you can spot a hummingbird flying in to the flowers surrounding it.
There is even a butterfly garden where you'll likely see things like stunning monarchs flittering among the flowers. It's an incredible experience for all ages.
The Northern Plains Botanic Garden is six acres of pure, natural beauty all brought together for a mesmerizingly colorful, lovely-smelling, and fun place. It's a spot you shouldn't pass up this spring and summer, especially considering admission is entirely free.
The Northern Plains Botanic Garden is located at Yunker Farm Park at 1211 28th Ave. N, Fargo, ND 58102. For more information about the garden and the Northern Plains Botanic Garden Society, click here.
You may not have heard of this particular garden before, but I bet you've heard of the International Peace Garden in North Dakota. This famous attraction is also a must-see and should be on everyone's bucket list, and here's why.
