If you've never been to the State Farmers Market in Raleigh, then prepare to be wow'd. This colossal farmers market is comprised of four themed buildings (we'll get to those themes momentarily) and is a delightful resource for a variety of things, including fresh fruit and vegetables. But that's not all we expect from a farmers market, is it? Just wait...
One of four regional state farmers markets, the State Farmers Market in Raleigh is a go-to spot for a multitude of goods.
The Market Shoppes, located fully indoors in a climate-controlled building, doles out fresh produce and vegetables all year from the comfort of a 15,600 square-foot building. You'll also find quaint shops in here that sell specialty items like old-fashioned candies, gifts, soaps, lotions, and more.
In cold or extremely hot weather, the Market Shoppes may be your first stop at this Raleigh market.
But don't overlook the open-air Farmers Building. Even in cold and hot temps, local farmers fill this space with produce, plants and specialty items.
Local produce is available beginning in March and sold throughout the growing season.
Whatever you seek in the way of fresh fruits and vegetables can be found within the Farmers Building.
Including flowers! During the growing season, the building is ablaze with bright colors of all hues and blooms of all shapes and sizes.
