For an old-fashioned day of fun on the sun, head to Emerald Isle and a water park that provides a step back in time to the days when awesome family memories were made without all of the bells and whistles of today's newfangled water parks that completely empty your wallet by the day's end. On your next visit to Emerald Isle, consider checking out this wholesome water park, where family values are key and memories are waiting to be made. Here's what you'll need to know:
This old-fashioned water park brings back the good old days when going to a water park didn't mean you needed a map to get around.
Salty Pirate Water Park is just the right size for everyone (even mom and dad, or nana and pop) to have a great time. The only thing that's missing here is the usual chaos found at larger parks, and that's a good thing.
The park is clean and the water features are very appealing. Visitors also appreciate that this water park is staffed with plenty of lifeguards so there's always someone keeping a keen eye (besides YOU) on your kids.
The main pool is painted like a pirate ship and has many levels and even small slides for the smallest members in the family. In fact, this park has a slide for everyone.
Walk the short path to the top of the hill and you'll have your choice.
Grab a mat and take one of the slippery boggan slides. Two of them even go through a tunnel underneath the ground!
Or veer off onto the wooden deck and make your way to the top of the tube slides.
These colorful water slides are the height of this old-hat park's thrill scene and they're daring enough. Imagine screaming down the blue one, or the unexpected turns inside a mostly dark tube as you make your way to the end of one of these, and then drop into the pool.
The boggan slide is powered by a hilltop geyser that recirculates the water back to the top of the mountain ensuring plenty of water to make your ride a fun one.
There may not be a zillion things to distract you at this park, but the slides alone are enough to keep everyone busy (and happy!) throughout your visit.
Over in the pirate ship pool, water features like this boat and a giant, friendly turtle slide create ways for the little ones to engage in even more water play.
There's something for everyone here at Salty Pirate Water Park. And when the crew gets hungry...
Pop into the small cafe for a snack or an ice cream.
They also have beverages, pizza, and more. Sounds kind of perfect, doesn't it?
You won't find the same crowds at this water park as those with their rides and slides and lazy rivers as far as you can see, but you will find hours and hours of (affordable) family fun.
And isn't that what it's all about?
The Salty Pirate Water Park is located only steps from the beach at Emerald Isle. Have you discovered the fun yet?
If not, prepare for an old-fashioned adventure that'll bring back the good ol' days at this water park in North Carolina!
