Anyone who has lived in New York State for more than a second knows to expect snow. Oftentimes, a lot of snow. So, why not have a little fun with it? Minnewaska State Park Preserve in the Catskills is the perfect place to enjoy all the natural sights of Winter and the powder that comes along with it—all with some snowshoes strapped on. On Saturday, January 13 and then Saturday, January 27, Park Educator Nick Martin will be leading a two-mile snowshoe hike at the park. The hike will hit two overlooks in the Peter’s Kill Area, both of which offer amazing views.

Though this hike is somewhat short, there are a couple of moderate hill climbs. For any of these hikes, snowshoes can be rented for $5 per person.
