Steamboats may have once been a popular way of traveling around New York regions like the Finger Lakes, but now these historic crafts are found few and far between. Luckily for our residents though, there is still an authentic double-decker paddle wheeler offering cruises on the fourth largest lake in the Finger Lakes Region. Featuring a variety of exciting and themed boat rides, take a look at why you'll want to book a cruise with the Canandaigua Lady.
Bringing you out onto Canandaigua Lake, the Canandaigua Lady is a 19th-century steamboat replica that everyone should ride at least once.
Operating cruises from May through October, you'll board the paddle boat at the northern end of Canandaigua Lake - just east of Kershaw Park in town.
Decorated with an Americana theme, you'll find that the 65-ton Mississippi-style paddle wheel boat is covered in lots of red, white, and blue.
Even the actual paddles themselves are beautifully decorated!
Handicap accessible and made for everyone to enjoy, the Canandaigua Lady is able to hold a total of 146 passengers on board.
And while the boat's Upper Deck has a maximum capacity of 75 people, the Canandaigua Lady offers upgrades for an additional fee that will guarantee you a spot on the top!
Throughout their operating season, you can choose to take their Narrated Excursion Cruises or you can also enjoy the Lunch and Dinner Cruises that they frequently have.
Taking visitors on cruises since 1989, passengers of the Canandaigua Lady will get the opportunity to learn about the history of steamboats in New York and more about the lake.
Yet out of all the cruises that this enchanting paddle boat offers, our favorite just so happens to be their Murder Mystery Cruise that you simply cannot miss.
Yes, it's true! The Canandaigua Lady has her own Murder Mystery Cruises. Offered this year on May 13th, June 17th, June 28th, July 28th, July 22nd, August 19th, September 1st and October 13th, passengers on board will get to enjoy an open bar will beer, soda, and wine, as well as a buffet while they try and solve a murder mystery on the boat.
Other exciting themed cruises that offered also include events like their Daddy Daughter Princess Dance that features music, pizza, flower corsages, and of course dancing, along with their 4th of July Fireworks Cruise and their Cruise and Design ride where you can sample local wine while you learn and create your own floral designs!
