Not too long ago we discussed some of our state's best 'hole in the wall restaurants', and today we're here to bring you even more restaurants that you may have overlooked in the past! 1. The Greek House, Troy
Looking to find the best gyros in the Capital District? Well, according to most of our residents you'll find them right here. Authentic Greek food that will knock your socks off, a fantastic staff and great prices will win you over even further.

2. Old Erie Restaurant, Weedsport
Right in the small village of Weedsport, you'll find this restaurant that's home to both American and German style dishes! A great location to stop at if you find yourself traveling along the highway out this way, not sure what to try? You can never go wrong with their scrumptious homemade soups!

3. Abyssinia Restaurant, Rochester
Ready to give your tastebud's a treat? Well, it's time to check out this delicious Ethiopian restaurant that's hiding right in Rochester! Run by a lovely couple who have dedicated their days to bringing you recipes that have been handed down for generations, you won't regret trying this place out. Not sure what to try out? Whatever you get, pair it up with some of their amazing honey wine!

4. Sammy D's Cafe, Lake George
It's that time of year when many of our residents will make their annual trip to Lake George, and you may be finding yourself wondering where you should grab a bite to eat. If you happen to shopping around the outlets up in this area, more specifically the ones at the Adirondack Outlet Mall, then this cafe is the spot to check out. Pictured above, you can see one of the many favorite items on their menu, the drool-worthy Chicken BLT!

5. Brooklyn Pickle, Syracuse
This sweet spot has earned itself two locations, both of which can be found in the city of Syracuse. The pickles you see pictured above? Well, those pickles are actually round pieces of foodie paradise. Known for their wonderful deli sandwiches and homemade soups, the restaurant has also created a following with their Brooklyn-style pickles.

6. Tanzy's, Hudson
If you're looking to go somewhere that knows how to serve up their breakfast food, then a stop at Tanzy's is a must! Don't let this small cafe deceive you, the flavorful dishes you'll find waiting inside may surprise you. While they also serve up lunch and have other things to check out, we suggest stopping in for breakfast.

7. Sophia's Restaurant, Buffalo
Sure, this post happens to be about delicious homemade meals, but would it be acceptable to consider a meal just...bread? At Sophia's, it absolutely would. At this Buffalo gem, you'll find homemade bread that will have you convinced you're addicted to toast. Seriously, it's that good.

8. Wyatt's, Lake Placid
Another location on our list that finds itself in a mall, this fantastic location can be found inside Lake Placid's Alpine Mall! In Lake Placid there are so many incredible places to eat, oftentimes making it difficult to choose where you want to eat. If you find yourself craving some TexMex - BBQ style food, then head on over to Wyatt's! So, what should you have here? Well, if you ask us there's simply nothing better than a burrito filled with mac and cheese. Yes, mac and cheese. Order the All American Burrito off of their menu and inside you'll find cheesy goodness waiting for you.

9. Cacciatore's, Johnson City
Family-owned and full of your favorite Italian dishes, Cacciatore's is the place to be at if you're craving some Italian food! Right out past Binghamton and not too far from our state border, this little gem has been open for over 10 years. Opening back up on the 8th after a brief 4th of July holiday break, you can check out all of the homemade dishes that will make your mouth water!

10. Blue Collar Bistro, Plattsburgh
It seems as though many of New York's northern gems tend to remain hidden, often being overlooked. Up north in our state you'll find the city of Plattsburgh, home to Blue Collar Bistro! Serving American style dishes, this restaurant is one place you can consistently rely on for amazing food.

11. Grandma's Back Porch
Yes, we already mentioned a great spot for you to eat at if you find yourself up in the area of Lake George, but what if you're looking to dine outside? Giving a view of the lake, enjoy a home cooked meal out on Grandma's back porch! The service here is phenomenal and you'll quickly find yourself overwhelmed with charm.
