During the holiday season, many of us as families anticipate seeing our favorite jolly man in his red suit at places like the local mall where we can get pictures taken and relay the message that we want everything under the sun for Christmas this year. Well, if you thought seeing Old Saint Nick outside of Macy's was a big deal, how about you try visiting him at the actual North Pole. Sound too good to be true? Then let us fill you in on why it's not.
Situated at the base of New York's 5th tallest mountain, Santa's Workshop is a place in our state where you can actually get to enjoy the true North Pole.
That's right! A hamlet within the Adirondack Park, North Pole, New York even has its own Post Office - one of the first sights you'll be greeted with when you come here.
Known as America's first theme park, Santa's Workshop actually remains open throughout all four of New York's season, but if you ask us winter is the best time of year to visit.
As you enter the North Pole, your eyes will begin to wander as you see all of the different stops that you can make - with an actual Reindeer Barn full of Santa's most famous friends.
The ultimate family holiday outing, this little Christmas village has everything from workshops, toy shops, bakeries, and even a hat maker shop where you can get your own Santa hat with your name on it!
And let's not forget that this is a theme park, so you can expect to find all your favorite rides here like a carousel and even a miniature train ride.
Let's not forget the most popular stop of all though, Santa's House - where you'll usually find quite the long line outside of where people are anxiously waiting to tell the big man what they want for Christmas this year.
