Sometimes the best hidden gems are found in the tiniest of towns. The tiny New Mexico town is called Pie Town, and it is aptly named because it has some of the best pies you will ever taste. Pie Town is a bit of a hippie, artist, and biker enclave, as it’s been for decades, and the people are as friendly as can be. They love it when people stop in for a slice of their town’s namesake treat. Welcome to Pie-O-Neer Pies, home of the best pies in New Mexico!
The Old West style exterior fits right in with the high desert surroundings, and is part of the rustic charm of this area.

When you walk in, you’ll be greeted by the lovely smell of the pies, and the rustic and charming decorations are reminiscent of Route 66, which is only about an hour north of here.
There are so many different kinds of pies to choose from. You can get them whole or by the slice, and can even get them a la mode! Everyone here is so friendly, it’s hard to tell what is sweeter, the people or the pies.
Pie-O-Neer gets pretty creative with its pies. Apple pie with green chilis and pine nuts? Yes, please! Sweet and spicy are a great flavor combination. Of course, in New Mexico, everything comes with chilis. Restaurants will often simply ask, “Green or red?” when you order food to find out what kind of chilis you prefer.
