Autumn in New Mexico is always a treat, and you can rest assured that this year is no exception.
While our weather has been slightly colder than average this year, that won't affect the fall leaves bursting with color very soon.
Of course, fall foliage viewing depends on many factors. A large factor is elevation, as the highest points of elevation often see the leaves change sooner, while fall colors in lower elevations don't peak until mid to late October.
October is supposed to be warm and sunny, and with the leaves changing in late September, you'll be able to see them clear as day as storms will be subsiding. The Northern part of the state is sure to light up with beautiful shades of red and orange in the mountains.
According to the Farmer's Almanac, the peak dates for viewing fall foliage in the Land of Enchantment this year are from September 29th to October 9th.
While no tool is completely accurate, Smoky Mountains has created an interactive map for best fall foliage viewing so you don't miss peak viewing times in your area.
