First, this list is by no means exhaustive. There are dozens of beautiful places in New Jersey, hundreds even. Second, this list is in no particular order. I absolutely cannot rate the beauty of the Garden State on a simple scale; all these spots are lovely in their own way. Third, and most importantly, restaurants and attractions, while we may adore them, come and go - nature is always waiting for us.
1. Branch Brook Park in Newark comes alive with color each spring as the cherry blossoms bloom.
2. The Goshen Pond Campsite in Wharton State Forest is a stunner as the sun peeks through trees.
3. The Palisades Cliffs are particularly picturesque in the fall.
4. The Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge is one of South Jersey's best bird watching destinations.
5. The Pochuck Boardwalk is a beautiful stretch of the Appalachian Trail!
6. The Delaware Bay is a delightful place to watch the sun set.
7. Lady Liberty is always inspiring.
8. The cranberry bogs of Burlington County are beautiful at harvest time.
9. The scenery is spectacular at High Point State Park. You can see for miles!
10. Our ocean beaches are always beautiful, but they shine at sunrise and sunset.
11. The Great Falls in Paterson are gorgeous all year long.
12. The Manasquan Reservoir is mesmerizing.
13. Early spring at Buttermilk Falls up near Layton.
14. Whitesbog is a wonder in the winter.
Which of these photos is your favorite? I'm partial to numbers 3,9,10, and 14 but I really do love them all. Share your favorite New Jersey destinations (and photos!) with us in the comments. Discover more of our favorites on this list of gorgeous Garden State spots.
