Have you ever heard of Lambertville? It's a small city hiding in Hunterdon County that's home to a mere 4,000-ish residents.
Although small, this city is BIG on scenery. From the Delaware River to the Delaware and Raritan Canal, there are plenty of water views to enjoy during your visit.
History buffs will also enjoy the old buildings sprinkled throughout the town. Founded in 1705, this area still retains much of its old charm.
Don't miss the many antique stores and restaurants, too. Below we've listed six of our favorite local eateries, but that's only the beginning. Start with these, and then explore more!
1. Liberty Hall Pizza
Who doesn't love pizza? The pies at Liberty Pizza are Neapolitan-style and you'll love every bite. When you're craving carbs, this place is sure to satisfy.
2. Brian's
In a fancier mood? Then head to Brian's, where the atmosphere is inviting and the food is always impressive. Many reviewers claim that this is the best restaurant they've ever been to. Try the duck!
3. Lambertville Station
It's time to take advantage of the canal views. Lambertville Station is canal-side, making for a perfect spot to dine outdoors on nice days. This restaurant is full of character (and good food, too).
4. More Than Q
Craving meat? More Than Q will tackle those carnivorous cravings and then some. Head here for some of the best ribs and brisket around. You're sure to leave feeling stuffed.
5. Marhaba (Middle Eastern cuisine)
Sure, American classics are great, but ethnic cuisine is perfect when you're wanting more flavor. Marhaba serves up authentic Middle Eastern cuisine and the reviews don't lie -- people travel from near and far to chow down here.
6. Owowcow Creamery
Ah, and now onto something sweet. After having your fill of food from all around the city, head to Owowcow Creamery and enjoy handcrafted ice cream. There are so many flavors to choose from, you just may want to try a little bit of everything.
