There’s no question that it feels like everything’s getting more expensive. Discussing what’s causing it could ruin any dinner party, but there’s one thing we can all agree on – we’ve gotta eat! We’ve all felt that sticker shock at the fast food counter, but I often find that the best spots for cheap eats in New Jersey are more often found off the beaten path. And that’s exactly where I found the Latin Diner, a new retro restaurant hidden in Asbury Park less than a mile from the boardwalk. This restaurant actually only opened in summer 2023, but its unique diner facade makes it feel like it’s been around for decades – as do the rock-bottom prices! The restaurant is known for its extensive selection of rotating lunch specials, none of which top $10 and provide a ton of food. It might just be my new favorite spot on the Jersey Shore, and we bet you’ll agree.

With a retro diner vibe and a laid-back atmosphere, Latin Diner is the newest addition to the Asbury Parks cheap-eats scene - and it's well worth a visit.

What's on offer? That depends on what day you're here, as the restaurant rotates through dozens of lunch specials. Only a few items on the entire menu top $10, and none of the lunch special plates go over.
