It's a magical time of year in New Hampshire. Days are shorter, temperatures are going down and, little-by-little, lights across small towns and cities are going up! This time of year certainly makes things feel happier and more cozy. That's why we're always on the hunt for more ways to keep this feeling going. One of the best is this annual train ride that's sure to put you in the spirit.
The Hobo Railroad in Lincoln offers year-round events for families and friends, but it's their annual holiday train ride that puts us in the spirit!
The Hobo Railroad is family-owned and the Hobo Junction Station is a fun place to visit if you love trains. Kids will love the magical set-up of decorations that truly feel like the North Pole.
Every weekend between November 27th and December 20th the Santa Express train departs the Hobo Junction Station for a scenic ride along the Pemigewasset River.
While the views are tremendous, the company is even better! Every rider will meet Santa and Mrs. Claus and children will have the chance to write them letters to be mailed.
Every child also receives a small gift directly from the big man himself!
The train leaves twice each weekend day. The 11 a.m. ride offers a 1-hour round trip ride and the 1 p.m. trip lasts a full 80-minutes.
Every Santa Express Train also offers either first class or coach class seating. Each experience is the same, but first class offers tables.
The experience is something that will make the holiday season come alive. It's truly delightful and fun.
Remember to book soon, as capacity is limited given current COVID-19 restrictions. With just 50% capacity allowed, each of these rides will likely sell-out early. And you won't want to miss it!
The Santa Express Train operates on weekends beginning Friday, November 27th through Sunday, December 20th. You can learn more about it and get tickets on their website. You'll also want to check out the website to understand all COVID-19 protocols that will be in place this year. Tickets are $33 for First Class and $25 for Coach Class. Kids aged 2 and under ride free. If you have questions you can reach them on 603-745-2135.
