No matter what your favorite food or your favorite meal, there are plenty of options for dining out here in New Hampshire. From the seafood spots near the coast to the rustic and delicious steakhouses, you can try lots of options until you land on your favorite. The only problem? Some of the best often have long lines or can be hard to reserve. But, while some might want to skip these spots we recommend giving them a try. They're popular for a reason!
1. Alley Cat Pizzeria, Manchester
The line here might make you think you should try some other pizza place, but we assure you that you need to stick it out! The pizza here is incredible and it's offered by the slice or an entire pie. Things inside might be crowded, but these days they're making sure everyone has enough room by limiting capacity. Learn more about why you need to try it here.
2. Hart's Turkey Farm, Meredith
If you love Thanksgiving, you'll love this New Hampshire institution! Hart's Turkey Farm offers the perfect turkey dinner throughout the year, which means you don't have to wait for November to indulge. 3. the burg, Pittsburg
While you might not find an actual line here, you're pretty much always going to find it busy. Especially since they've been temporarily closed. Expect things to stay busy here for quite some time. But, don't give up! Waiting for a meal here is always worth it.
4. Petey's Summertime Seafood, Rye
Visit Petey's on a beautiful summer day and you'll definitely be waiting outside. But, it almost doesn't matter when the weather is nice and you know you've got some of the best seafood in the state coming your way. Load up once you're in because you're definitely going to want to bring some home. You can learn more about it by clicking here.
5. Collins Brothers Chowder, Nashua
Editor's Note: Be aware that Collins Brothers Chowder is not open in the summer, but reopens each September. From the outside this little storefront might not look like much. In fact, those from out of state might just assume it's like any other deli. But, they'd be wrong! Those who love chowder know that Collins offers the best you can get. And while reservations are not the problem here, be prepared to find a very crowded interior during meal times. The good news is that you can take out to enjoy in the comfort of your own home. We love this place so much, we've featured it in its own article here.
6. 4 Aces Diner, Lebanon
Classic diner food served in an adorably quaint New England-style house? Yep, we'll wait! The dishes here are great so it's convenient that the portions are huge. And you just can't beat their breakfasts.
7. Gilley's Diner, Portsmouth
The classic diner experience is alive and well at this little hole-in-the-wall. The hours are great for those who find themselves famished late at night and while you might have to wait for a table, we recommend you do it! Those burgers, hot dogs and fries are totally worth it.
