One of the best things about living in New Hampshire is access to wonderful wildlife. Especially the moose this region is so famous for! They're best seen in certain areas and during specific times of the year, but with the tour we're talking about today you have a great chance of spotting one in the wild!
Much of the northern regions of New England are great for moose watching, but New Hampshire and Maine might be two of the places to spot them. And, lucky for New Hampshirites, the White Mountains are a great place to spot them!
While you can certainly spot them while driving yourself, it can be quite dangerous to come upon them in the road.
They’re often hard to spot until it’s too late and accidents occur more than you might think.
That’s why we love the North Conway Moose Safari Moose Tour!
The 3.5-hour tours, which take place during prime moose-spotting season between May and September, depart at 8 p.m. from the North Conway Scenic Railroad Station.
Your evening will begin with a short educational movie all about the moose of New Hampshire. And your tour guide, Elwyn Watson, is on-hand to answer any questions you’ll have before you set off.
Mr. Watson is a lifelong resident of the area which means he’s got all the expertise necessary to find these beautiful creatures!
He also knows where to find them. While there’s no actual guarantee that you’ll see moose, it’s almost always an inevitability.
And the company’s 94% success rate proves that.
The bus is comfortable, but more importantly it has floodlights and spotlights will make seeing the moose much more easy.
These tours are a great way to celebrate special occasions, or to simply celebrate New Hampshire! Of course, plan to spend some extra time in the area. It's beautiful!
