The Christmas season is here, and New Hampshire has come alive with all the fun things to do in celebration. While life tends to get busy this time of year, we think it's important to make time for special family-friendly events. So, between the shopping trips, meal-planning and travel preparations, be sure to plan a visit to Journey to the North Pole in New Hampshire, located in North Conway and Lincoln. This combination of train rides and live performances is truly unforgettable. Even better, it benefits the literacy programs of The Believe in Books Literacy Foundation - a great cause. This might just be the best way to celebrate Christmas traditions in New Hampshire - and the 2023 train is loading soon!
The annual Journey to the North Pole event is back up and running for 2023, and it's shaping up to be the best one yet.
The fun starts at the train depot in either North Conway or LIncoln, where you'll take your seats for the journey to Santa's workshop. There are a number of different seat types, ranging from coach class to upper dome seats.
Trains depart twice a day from each station, either in the afternoon at 4:30 p.m. or evening at 7 p.m.
Once night falls, lanterns and lights make things feel truly magical.
And aboard the train the magic turns delicious as each rider is served decadent hot chocolate and special treats sent right from Santa.
Visitors are encouraged to wear their coziest pajamas in anticipation of meeting the big guy.
And, while this event takes place on multiple days between Thanksgiving and New Years, each night feels just as special as the first.
As the train approaches the North Pole, there's one very important stop! Everyone has the chance to drop off a letter to Santa at the post office.
Upon arrival at the workshop, Santa's special helpers read “The Night Before Christmas.”
And the spirited elves help lead fun singalongs.
By the end of the two-hour event, even adults will feel the magic of Christmas!
