When we have some free time our first thought is of what we can do to have fun. That usually involves friends and family, but it's not always easy to decide what to do. With so many options, plans can sometimes feel overwhelming. And, as we all try to save more money these days it can be hard to find something that fits within the budget we're aiming for. That's why we love road trips. These are all fairly inexpensive, but offers lots of fun!
1. The New Hampshire Beaches Road Trip
With such a short coast in New Hampshire, this trip could be a short one if you choose. Just doing the drive will probably take less than an hour. But add in stops for a few refreshing dips, snacks and drinks and you could stretch this into an entire weekend. Check out the route and photos here.
2. The Donut Lovers Trail
There's nothing better than a food-related road trip that allows you to stay hungry enough to gobble something up at every stop. This donut trip is another one that won't require big bucks. Unless you really love donuts! Check out where you'll be headed on this 5 hour trip by clicking here.
3. The Thrift Store Road Trip
While this trip will inevitably include some shopping, you can rest easy knowing that the shopping will be inexpensive. And, it just might include some things you've been on the lookout for! 4. The Fabulous Taco Trail
Most people won't think of New Hampshire when they're considering the best places to road trip for tacos, but that doesn't mean we don't have our fair share of great places. This trip will take you to 7 of them and as long as you can keep things to a taco or two at each spot this definitely won't break the bank. Look at the route and start getting hungry here.
5. Head to Sugar Hill
This is a must-do for folks who love taking in more of the state. This beautiful town is consistently on lists of the most special towns in New England. And for good reason! 6. A trip along New Hampshire 153
If you only have an hour or so, this quintessential New England road trip is perfect! Despite being just 36 miles it passes through some of the best scenery in the state. Plan on at least an hour in the car heading from Sanbornville to Conway. Make it extra special by adding stops at The New Hampshire Farm Museum and two wildlife Sanctuaries along the route. And if you have more time, plan on heading west to join the Kancamagus Highway.
7. Power that sweet tooth on the New Hampshire Ice Cream Trail
Another day, another delicious food-related road trip. You can take this one year-round, but we especially love it in the summer. Roll down the windows and fill that belly with cones and cones and cones of delectable ice cream throughout the state. Check out where you'll be headed by clicking here.
8. Journey through the state's best small towns
