There's nothing quite like summer in New Hampshire. Especially when you make sure to take advantage of every fun activity we have at our disposal. Hiking is always a great option, but that's a great way to build up a serious sweat. On the extra-hot summer days, you're going to want to have a way to stay cool. And that's why we love this incredible river. It happens to be the best river for tubing in New Hampshire. While we certainly haven't tried every river, we have to admit that this is high on the list.
One of the most popular tubing companies is the Saco Canoe Rental Company in New Hampshire. The operation is small, but they carry everything from canoes to paddleboards and kayaks along with the ever-popular tubes.
The Saco River is one of our favorite ways to stay cool and have fun in New Hampshire. But first, let’s clarify something. This massive river is actually 136-miles long, running through both New Hampshire and Maine, but we love floating through the portion that makes its way through Conway.
The river is nice and wide, plus it’s so shallow that tubing is fun and fairly risk-free. We also love that tubing isn’t the only option here. There are lots of places to stop and enjoy the sandy beaches that dot the shores.
While you can find your own place to put in your tube, it’s a lot easier to handle things through a company that will organize everything for you.
If you choose to go with Saco Canoe Rental Company in New Hampshire, you’ll have a few different trips on the river from which to choose. The trips range from 1 to 5 miles, depending on how much time you have to enjoy the river.
The actual time tubing depends on the water level and the route, but you should plan on being out anywhere from one to seven hours.
The best reason to take one of these trips is to avoid having to worry about the logistics of your start and finish. You’ll park your car at the end location and Saco Canoe Rental Company will take you to the starting point. When you’re done, just get in your car and head off!

And of course you can always stop a few times to enjoy the rope swings.
The tubes are super comfortable and reliable. They’ll even hook you up with a tube that acts as a cooler so you can keep your beverages and food nice and cold.
Being with your friends is fun, but our favorite thing is how beautiful the river is. The views are wonderful and there are quite a few covered bridges along the way. Does anything feel more New Hampshire than a covered bridge?
Whether you’re a thrill seeker or just interested in a nice day floating along the river, this is one of the best ways to enjoy a summer day in New Hampshire.
