The park itself is full of must-try hikes, including the short but sweet Moon Caves Trail. Taking you through a maze of slot canyons, this hike is perfect for taking in Cathedral Gorge's surreal landscape.

Moon Caves! Located just southeast of the main campground, this area of the park can be easily hiked or driven to. Be sure not to forget your camera because the scenery is a photographer's dream.
At less than a half-mile long, the hike is more of a short jaunt. However, you'll still want to be sure to wear some sturdy footwear for exploring the rugged landscape, especially if you plan on meandering through the caves and slot canyons.
Taking you straight into the slot canyons created by the spires, you can't help but be totally enamored by the bizarre scenery surrounding you. Look up and enjoy the perspective of the canyon walls towering above - this is definitely a view you don't get to see every day.
They say afternoon and late evening is the best time to visit Cathedral Gorge since this is when the west-facing caves are illuminated by the golden light of the setting sun. We can't say we disagree!
