When Omahans think of Ollie the Trolley, they probably think of drunken fun or of Warren Buffett’s assertion that he would use it as transportation to get to the voting booth one year. This trolley has been in business since 1985 and has grown to eight trolleys in the fleet. So what does a cute trolley have to do with ghosts? Seasonally, Ollie takes visitors on a haunted ghost tour in Nebraska led by local historians.
Gather friends for the Haunted Cemetery Tour that visits haunted cemeteries, houses, and more.
The Haunted Cemetery Tour is a public tour, so unless you make special arrangements, there will be people on your tour that you don’t know.
Whether it’s Ollie the Trolley or Polly the Trolley, you’re sure to have some fun on this haunted tour. Guests are encouraged to bring their own “spirits” to enjoy while hunting apparitions.
These tours only happen in the fall, so don’t miss your chance to book your tour when the leaves start to turn and the weather turns cooler.
Since the tours are led by local historians, you’ll get to hear about some fun aspects of Omaha history you may not have known, like the gangsters that used to run the city.
Is the tour spooky? Since it happens during the day, there’s certainly not the element of fright that would happen if the tours happened in the dead of night.
The tours begin at the Hillcrest Funeral Home and Memorial Park where participants can park their cars and board the trolley.
No word on whether that cemetery is actually haunted or if the parking there is just really great, so that’s where everyone meets for the tour.
What makes this haunted ghost tour so unique is the trolley transportation and the way people are urged to bring some drinks along to make it a real party.
Is it a ghost tour that a serious ghost hunter would enjoy? I suppose that depends on the ghost hunters appetites - and thirst.
The addition of the trained historian is a nice touch to this haunted ghost tour. The Omaha area actually has some really interesting history to it – and plenty of hauntings!
The tour includes stories about the “Mad Butcher” of Omaha and explores unmarked graves with speculation on who may lie there.
If you’re looking for a haunted ghost tour unlike anything you’ve ever experienced, book your seat on Ollie the Trolley’s Haunted Ghost Tour.
