This little vineyard and winery in Parks, Nebraska is a wonderful place to spend the day. The 1,250 vines here produce both red and white varietals. Stay overnight in the winemaker's loft!

3. Neligh Mill: A Charming Historic Mill
Neligh Mill was built in 1873, right on the banks of the Elkhorn River. Though it's no longer operating as a mill, much of the original equipment is still there, and the buildings are beautifully preserved.

You've got to visit the little town of Fairbury as soon as possible! The historic downtown area is quaint and charming, and McNish Park features some adorable little structures that look like they came right out of a storybook.

5. The Garden of the Zodiac: A Secret Garden You're Guaranteed To Love
The Passageway is tucked away in an alley in Omaha, and it's absolutely charming. You'll love the old, brick buildings and greenery that lines both sides of the alley, along with more greenery hanging overhead. But the best surprise is the hidden garden inside the art gallery.

6. The Homestead National Monument of America: The Oldest Homestead Farm In America
Daniel Freeman was the first American to take advantage of the Homestead Act that President Lincoln signed in 1862. This monument celebrates the many homesteaders who claimed their land in Nebraska, and has restored cabins and buildings to explore.

7. Peace, Love & Lavender: The Beautiful Lavender Farm Hiding In Plain Sight
Though lavender isn't normally a plant you find in Nebraska, Dan and Cyndi Smith started their lavender farm in Gosper County. After lots of trial and error, today the farm is a thriving business that's open to the public to visit.

8. Crescent Lake National Wildlife Refuge: The Hidden Park That's Nebraska's Best Kept Secret
The Crescent Lake National Wildlife Refuge covers 46,000 acres and is a haven for over 200 species of birds. You'll also see tons of other wildlife here, including mule deer, whitetail deer, foxes, porcupines and more.
