Wyoming experiences a very mild climate during the summer making it an awesome place to get out and enjoy some summertime activities. Here are 10 destinations everyone in Wyoming needs to visit during this summer season.
1. Glendo State Park
Boating is a fun summer activity. Glendo State Park is one of the most popular boating parks in southern Wyoming. Other fun summertime activities here include water skiing, fishing, and 7 campgrounds with around 420 sites. A concession at the reservoir provides marina services and fishing equipment. In fact, the reservoir has produced record fish for the state of Wyoming. Glendo State Park is located 20 miles southeast of Douglas. The park surrounds Glendo Reservoir on the North Platte River. 2. Star Plunge
Star Plunge is located in Hot Springs State Park and is filled with naturally heated mineral water. This water oasis has 3 long water slides that empty into a nice size pool for the whole family to enjoy. 3. Snow King Mountain
Snow King Mountain is a great destination for some summer fun. A fun activity in particular is the Alpine Slide. It is located at Snow King Mountain in jackson, Wyoming. The slide takes you zooming through Snow King Mountain down a half mile track at speeds up to 25 mph. The red lever in the picture can make you go faster or slow you down so you choose the speed. 4. Cheyenne Frontier Days
People have been enjoying this traditional summer event since 1897. Cheyenne Frontier Days is an annual outdoor western celebration that is held for ten days during the last full week of July. This event includes the walking of the steers, nightly concerts, a fair, food vendors, United States Air Force Thunderbird Air Show, Wild West shows and the grandest rodeo of all time. 5. Farson Mercantile
What is summer without ice cream? Farson Mercantile is a local ice cream shop and mercantile store located at 4048 N. US Highway 191 in Farson, Wyoming. It has the distinction of being known as the "Home of the Big Cone." They carry over 20 different ice cream flavors and sherbets. Their strawberry cheesecake ice cream is some of the best around. 6. Aerial Adventure Park, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort
The Adventure Park in Teton Village is a great way to spend a summer day. Here you can enjoy mountain biking, riding the tram, a rope course and free falling from a drop tower. With trams that run up and down the mountain, you'll never run out of things to do, and the ropes course and other activities will bring out the summer explorer in you. The park is centrally located at the base of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.

7. Big Horn National Forest

8. Douglas Water Park
This is a fun family place to enjoy some water activities. Douglas Water Park offers a covered baby pool, a splash park with interactive water toys and three water slides.
9. Flaming Gorge Reservoir
Wyoming is a landlocked state but it still has beaches. The Flaming Gorge Reservoir is located along the border of Wyoming and Utah. The reservoir is filled with white sandy beaches and crystal blue water to enjoy during the warmer summer months.

How about surfing on the Snake River? Just south of Jackson, the Snake River offers some of the best river surfing in the country. At Lunch Counter Rapid, the melting snow creates a cascading runoff and rock walls squeeze the river into a wave that can be surfed for up to 20 minutes at a time.
