Wyoming is brimming with gorgeous places to explore with friends and family - or even all by yourself. We've selected a few of our favorites and listed them below. Each of these spots is so beautiful and so quiet, you'll feel like you're on another planet.
1. Castle Gardens
Visit Castle Gardens near Alcova, Wyoming to discover a spot in the Red Desert that's truly unique. You'll find a remote petroglyph site here, along with miles and miles of quiet desert prairie trails where you can drive for hours without seeing another soul.
2. Cottonwood Creek Dinosaur Trail
If you want to walk in the footsteps of dinosaurs, head to Cottonwood Creek! The dinosaur trail is home to pieces of a real dino skeleton - though most of it has been removed to be preserved. Along the way, signs explain the history. This is truly a hidden gem.
3. Silas Lakes
Upper and Lower Silas Lakes are known for their remarkable beauty, and you'll want to hike in to spend a full day here. Pack a picnic - and bear spray!
4, White Mountain Petroglyph Site
The White Mountain Petroglyph Site is a sacred and historic spot that too few people know about! Visit to look back in time and see the art of Wyoming's earliest residents.
5. LaBonte Canyon
The beautiful LaBonte Canyon is a hidden gem by Curtis Gulch in Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest. The trail to explore it is a moderate 5.5 miles and you'll likely be the only one you see.
6. Sheep Nose Mountain
Sheep Nose Mountain is beautiful any time of year, but it really comes to life in the summer, when wildflowers stretch for as far as you can see. This peak is near Sundance and is just a moderate 5 mile trek out and back, with most of the journey being along a fire road.
7. Cottonwood Drain Falls
Cottonwood Draw Falls is located in the Cottonwood Draw Wildlife Management Area, and it's quite a secret little cascade! Take this moderate hike to find it and you'll find yourself enjoying the sound of a quiet and slow cascade.
