Mountain bikes and horses share this trail but you'll be blissfully free of motorized traffic! Trekking poles can definitely come in handy, especially after rainfall, as the rocks can be slick. Take care to avoid excessively muddy portions to preserve the trail and pay close attention to the weather on hiking day — early snowfall has a way of showing up when you least expect it!
