Last year, we told you about the sleigh ride at Twin Lakes Trails in Birchwood (which you can read about here). However, that’s not the only place you can live out the song, Jingle Bells. The classic Christmas carol is brought to life each winter at Rocking L Acres. Take a look:
There’s no better way to ring in the holidays than with an old-fashioned sleigh ride at Rocking L Acres.
A small horse farm about 5 miles southeast of Madison, Rocking L Acres offers horse training, riding lessons, carriage services, and, in the winter, sleigh rides! Perfect for couples, families, and groups of friends, each sleigh holds up to seven adults. Have more than seven in your group? No problem; larger groups can be accommodated.
The picture-perfect cold weather adventure begins even before you hop aboard the open bobsleigh.
Once you arrive at Rocking L Acres, you’ll have the option of watching the horses being hitched up. Or, if you prefer, you can wait inside, huddled around a toasty wood-burning stove. Should you choose to wait inside, you’ll know it’s time to climb into the sleigh when you hear jingle bells.
During the 30-minute sleigh ride, you’ll travel through woods, fields, and around ponds.
Rides are offered day and night by appointment only. Your fun isn’t over when the sleigh ride is, though. After the sleigh ride, you can head inside and warm up by the fire. As you fill up on hot beverages and cookies, the farm’s owner will regale your group with stories about farming, the horses, and more.
As if it couldn’t get any better, all riders are supplied with authentic lap robes!
Though the lap robes will help keep your legs and feet warm, it’s still important that you dress for winter.
Aside from old-fashioned charm, the sleigh rides at Rocking L Acres have another major perk – affordability!
The cost is $50 to hitch the horses, $10 per adult, and $5 for children 12 and under. To put that into perspective, most other sleigh rides in the state are well over $100.
