The Milwaukee County Parks system is home to over 150 parks, so we can see why it might be hard to pick where to head next. This park, however, stands above the rest. This unique green space is located in the heart of downtown, bringing you a safe haven of peace from all the bustle. Not only that, but it's home to some of our city’s richest history and best views!
Welcome to Juneau Park.
This incredibly unique park in Milwaukee isn't just beautiful; it's full of amazing history.
This historic green space has some of the best views of our skyline.
Juneau Park is located right downtown, so it's perfect for an afternoon stroll and is home to the most jaw-dropping views of Lake Michigan and our city’s skyline.
An ode to Solomon!
This park is home to Milwaukee’s first mayor: Solomon Juneau. Well, a statue of him at least! This statue was built in 1887 and stands tall to this day.
Fun fact: Milwaukee is the only city to have elected three socialist mayors.
Don't forget about Leif!
Another statue among the park is this statue of Leif Erikson the discoverer. Our statue is a replica of one that was first installed in Boston.
These treasures almost didn't make it, though.
Thanks to Juneau Park Friends, a non-profit organization to preserve the park, these statues will continue to be preserved. After being around for hundreds of years, there was much upkeep to be done, but the organization has already raised over $130,000.
Besides the standing art, this park is art in itself.
There's no better place to sit and overlook the terrace of the Juneau Park lagoon and Lake Michigan. While friends can play frisbee or walk their dog, you can sit and take in all the beauty.
Being in Milwaukee, Juneau Park is also home to much celebration.
When it's not a relaxing terrace, Juneau Park is home to fun events such as Poetry in the Park, and each summer, it’s home to a traveling beer garden! Drink up!
From amazing views to enriching history and a location that can't be beat, Juneau Park is incredibly unique.
Juneau Park is located at 900 N. Prospect Ave., Milwaukee.
