Some sights are so stunning that they’ve got to be seen to be believed. That’s surely the case with Elkhart Lake. It’s one of Wisconsin’s deepest lakes. It’s one of the cleanest, too. However, its most distinguishing feature is the blue-green tint of its waters. Absolutely breathtaking, the lake is like a little slice of the Caribbean right here in the Badger State. Let’s explore this gorgeous lake that is arguably one of the best beaches in Wisconsin.
One visit to Elkhart Lake and you’re sure to be enamored by its beauty.
Spring-fed and crystal clear, the namesake lake is the centerpiece of Elkhart Lake, a charming little resort town in Sheboygan County.
With a maximum depth of 119 feet, the 292-acre lake is one of Wisconsin’s deepest lakes. It’s also one of the cleanest...and prettiest!
Vibrantly hued waters are a hallmark of the lake, which makes it one of the best beaches in Wisconsin.
The Potawatomi Indians who originally inhabited the area valued the lake’s waters for their restorative properties.
Today, the beautiful blue-green waters provide the perfect setting for an array of aquatic activities, including kayaking, tubing, paddleboarding, fishing, and swimming.
Though the namesake lake is reason enough to visit the village of Elkhart Lake, it’s not the only reason.
Undeniably picturesque and brimming with charm, the village is a great day trip destination.
And with tons of resorts, many of which are right on the lake, it’s also a great choice for an in-state getaway.
Boasting waters that rival the Caribbean and surroundings that are just as impressive, Elkhart Lake is a true gem, and arguably one of the best beaches in Wisconsin.
