What do you do to cool off when the summer heat hits West Virginia? Thankfully, there's plenty of choices: grab an ice cream cone, stroll through a forest, visit a cave. Or...go for a swim at West Virginia's newest water adventure park!
Tygart Lake State Park is a stunning gem in the West Virginia State Park system. Less than 5 miles from Grafton, the park features a 10-mile long, 1,750-acre lake oasis.
It's a beautiful spot from any angle, whether you're close, far, above, or in the water.
And now there's a brand new feature at Tygart: the Adventure Lake, a fantastic inflatable playground on the water. A partnership between the West Virginia State Parks system and ACE Adventure Resort, this addition to Tygart Lake State Park just adds to its appeal as the perfect place to spend a summer day in the Mountain State.
With 25 inflatable slides and obstacles just offshore from a sandy beach area with lounge chairs, there's something for everyone at this brand new water park. Tickets to the beach and park are $16 for an all-day pass and $12 for a half-day pass.
Plus, they're still all the other attractions Tygart Lake has always been known for - beautiful views, a variety of boating options, a restaurant, hiking trails, a lodge, cabins, and more.
So come find a spot of your own to relax and enjoy all that Tygart Lake State Park has to offer, including the new on-the-water playground on the lake!
We'll save a seat for you.
To learn more or purchase Adventure Lake tickets, visit the Tygart Lake State Park website. The lake is open late May to early September from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily. Have you visited it or any of the other West Virginia State Park Adventure Lakes, including Pipestem, yet?
