Tucked away in the Northern Panhandle of West Virginia, Tomlinson Run State Park is known as the Mountain State's "top" state park; it's the northernmost state park in West Virginia. And it's the perfect spot to sneak away for a fun little getaway.
Tomlinson Run State Park features beautiful mountain views, a serene mountain lake, fascinating historical sites, a swimming pool, and enchanting cabin, yurt, and campground options.
Located not far from the Ohio River, this park was originally the site of multiple productive grist mills in the 1800s.
The land was converted into a state park during the Great Depression by the National Conservation Commission.
Now, Tomlinson Run State Park is the northernmost state park in West Virginia and features 1,398 beautiful acres of peace and beauty.
One portion of the park is a designated wilderness area, featuring thick forests, stunning sandstone cliff overhangs, and a plethora of wildlife and wildflowers.
Another portion of the park is more developed, with picnic areas, the pool, and more.
After a day of fun filled with fishing, swimming, and hiking, reserve your spot in one of the unique yurts at Tomlinson Run State Park!
Cozy, comfortable, and primitive, these yurts are the perfect way to try something new and different and fun (Tomlinson Run is the only West Virginia State Park with this type of accommodation).
Or, if you'd rather, opt for a stay in a comfortable camper's cabin or a scenic campsite.
Tomlinson Run State Park is located at 3391 Veterans Boulevard in New Cumberland, West Virginia.
