That's right, coming soon to Huntington, West Virginia: a 1.5 million gallon global marine aquarium.
What do we know about the Huntington Zoo & Aquarium so far? It's going to be big. It's going to be state-of-the-art. And Phase 1 of development has already begun.
Over the course of the next two to seven years, the Huntington Zoo & Aquarium will complete portions of this massive zoological and conservation campus and begin opening them to the public.
By 2024, the plan is to open the reptile house, exotic animal vet clinic, and science museum, plus a handful of the planned nature trails and playgrounds. In subsequent years, watch for a splash park, amphitheater, a restaurant, a botanical garden, multiple biomes, more trails, and of course, the crown jewel, the global marine aquarium.
What can you do to help ensure that this amazing attraction does indeed come to Huntington, West Virginia absolutely as soon (and as smoothly) as possible?
