From the summits of our mountains to the deep waters of the lakes here in Washington, you're probably aware that the Northwest has an abundance of breathtaking scenery. 1. This enchanting moment by Mount Adams.
Besides the well-known Mount Rainier, another mountain that completely defines our state is Mount Adams - which is actually the 2nd highest peak at over 12,280 feet high!
2. The picture-perfect Christine Falls.
While it may not be an iconic waterfall, the scenery here by Mount Rainier certainly defines Washington between the framed cascade and stunning surrounding nature!
3. Going for a hike through the Gifford Pinchot Forest.
Among the 1,368,300 acres of forests, mountains, river valleys and waterfalls, this national forest in the southwestern part of our state is full of evergreen beauty you just won't see anywhere else.
4. A relaxing scene by Cape Disappointment.
This peaceful viewpoint near the Pacific Ocean certainly shows off the serenity of coastal living.
5. Lake Chelan at sunset.
Seeing as that Chelan is the largest natural lake in our state, this stunning body of water is unquestionably a signature scene in Washington - especially at twilight!

If you've ever driven down Yakima River Canyon Scenic Byway, or Highway 821, you can likely appreciate the phenomenal beauty of this Central Washington landscape. The scenic route parallels the Yakima River for nearly 27 miles through giant basalt cliffs and rolling desert hills!
