It's almost here...one of the most cozy seasons all year in the Northwest! While we do have a couple weeks of summer still left, here are 10 undeniable signs that autumn is just around the corner:
10. All kinds of pumpkin spice, eggnog and peppermint flavors become available at coffee shops...
And you may start going with hot drinks rather than iced.
9. ...and seasonal beers start showing up on the shelves at stores!
Oktoberfest in Leavenworth is also approaching at the beginning of October.
8. You start seeing flannel everywhere...
It's so warm and comfy! And sandals and socks, for some...
7. ...as well as purple, white, blue, or crimson!
Gonzaga begins classes on September 1st, WSU has already started, and UW will get going at the end of September, so there are plenty of people getting ready to head off. College sports will return soon as well!
6. These suddenly pop up on nearly every street.
Election Day is in November, so everyone starts campaigning now. You'll probably see more and more local TV commercials too.
5. We can begin harvesting some incredible produce.
Pumpkin patch, anyone?
4. In Western Washington, it starts raining...a LOT.
At least you can enjoy these awesome things to do for those days! Also, be sure to avoid the gigantic puddles. Drive to the Eastern side of the state if you're in need of some sun!
3. You can't wait to "Do The Puyallup".
The Washington State Fair is starting on September 11th and features all of your favorite carnival foods, games, concerts, rides and more!
2. Football season starts.
SEEEAHAWWWKS! The Mariners and Sounders wrap up their seasons shortly.
1. And perhaps the best sign of all - we see jaw-dropping fall foliage everywhere!
A couple of weeks into September and crunchy leaves begin to fall that you can step on and crumble. Maple Pass and Blue Lake are both amazing hikes if you're looking to see stunning autumn colors!
