Here's some good news: if you've ever wondered "are there any cool waterfalls near me," there are hundreds of waterfalls in Washington, many of which are fairly easily accessible. But one of our most beautiful waterfalls not only requires no hike to reach, but it also happens to be sitting right in the middle of a city - and that's part of what makes Spokane Falls so special.
Spokane Falls is located in the central business district downtown, next to Riverfront State Park.
The falls consists of both an upper and a lower part.
The Upper Falls is the site of the Upper Falls Dam, a diversion dam constructed in 1920 that diverts water into the Upper Falls intake on the south channel of the Spokane River.
There are several ways to view the falls.
Trails through Riverfront Park lead to footbridges with views. You can also look from the Monroe Street Bridge.
You can even see it by gondola if you take a ride on the Spokane Falls Skyride.
You can even see the falls from a few of Spokane's top restaurants, like Clinkerdagger.
Needless to say, this is one of the top patios to enjoy during the warmer months.
Spokane Falls is an underrated gem.
It's so nice to have a waterfall in the middle of the city that we don't have to hike to see!
