There are plenty of fancy, upscale steakhouses in the state of Virginia, but we think there's something to be said for that down-home feel. If you're craving a delicious cut of meat, you won't find an experience more authentic than dining at the Farmhouse in Christiansburg. Take a look at what's being served up in this old Virginia barn that doubles as a restaurant:
A beloved landmark in southwest Virginia, the Farmhouse Restaurant is housed in what was once part of the Ridinger Estate. This nineteeth-century building was repurposed as a steakhouse in 1963.
Step inside this historic building and you'll find a delightful dining space with incredible character. In the 1970s, the restaurant added an old train caboose for a memorable dining atmosphere.
In just the past decade, the space has been further renovated to include an additional dining area, banquet space, and beautiful outdoor patio to accommodate even more diners.
As soon as you sample something from the menu, you'll understand why this establishment has been such a landmark of the New River Valley community for decades.
This eatery is known for its heaping portions of prime rib, porterhouse, mashed potatoes and more.
Other popular orders include the bacon cheeseburger, crab cakes, and just about anything from the Sunday brunch menu.
Don't forget to order a side of the famous homemade onion rings...they're just as delicious on their own as they are served alongside your steak.
Dessert includes a range of options such as homemade pies to something a little more unusual, such as the Grasshopper Pie which is photographed below.
When you visit the Farmhouse, not only will you enjoy an authentic steakhouse, but you'll also appreciate this incredible unique and historic atmosphere.
The Farmhouse Restaurant is located at 285 Ridinger St, Christiansburg, VA 24073. Have you dined here before? We'd love to hear about your experience! For related content, you'll enjoy reading about how The Best Barbecue In Virginia Is Hiding Inside An Inconspicuous Log Cabin.
