Is there anything more perfect than apple picking in the fall? It's one of those activities that's almost poetic. The crisp air, beautiful fall foliage, and scenic apple orchard make the perfect recipe for a memorable family outing. Fortunately, Virginia boasts several such places, and today we'll highlight one known as Stribling Orchard in Markham, Virginia. With 35-acres of apple trees and a bakery open on the weekends, you'll be in absolute apple heaven. Here's more on the delightful Stribling Orchard.
Stribling Orchards is a six-generation working farm that's located in Fauquier County. In fact, the farm has existed since 1812.
The moment you set foot on property, you'll notice acres upon acres of bountiful apple trees.
For a small fee, you can pick your own! The opportunity to pick your own fruit is equal parts educational and rewarding. Plus, the more you pick, the less you'll pay for the bunch.
If you want to visit the farm but don't necessarily have time to pick your own apples, you can buy pre-picked fruits to take home.
If you happen to visit during the weekend, be sure to stop by the store and load up on freshly baked treats, such as homemade apple pie, turnovers, jams, apple sauce...the list goes on!
