While, you can practically drive right up to the beautiful Moss Glen Falls in Vermont, there are some waterfalls that require a bit of hiking and searching. The path to Old City Falls isn't as clearly marked as other waterfall hikes, but if you're able to follow it to the secret waterfall, it will be well worth the search.
Old City Falls is located in Strafford, Vermont.
The area used to be populated by gristmills, but now serves as just a natural retreat for hikers.
The hike doesn't take long, but you'll have to take a moderately steep path down to canyon bottom and the waterfall.
Make sure you wear good shoes that have a bit of grip. The rocks near the falls tend to be very slippery.
For the best views of the waterfall, come after a heavy rainfall.
The upper falls has a 45-foot drop.
On a hot day, wade in the pools of the cascades.
Each of the pools is at least waist deep, which is enough to cool off on a hot day.
This waterfall may be hidden in the woods, but once you get to it, it'll stop you right in your tracks.
