Why travel for hours to hang out at crowded coastal spots when you can have a fantastic beach vacation right here in Vermont? This gorgeous state park beach may not be a complete secret, but we think it’s vastly underrated. Here’s why.
Bomoseen State Park is home to one of the loveliest little beaches in the state. It has a bit of everything and is sure to please the whole family.
Located in Taconic Mountains, this park offers beautiful mountain views and a lush forest to explore via several hiking trails. However, the beach is probably one of this spot’s biggest draws.
The sand at this beach is just right – not too pebbly, but not so fine that it works its way into everything you own. It’s perfect for building sandcastles!
There’s a swimming area with a gentle incline that makes it a good option for families with smaller kids, as well as a picnic area where you can spread your lunch. Pop by the snack bar for extra treats or a cooling popsicle.
If you want to do more than swim, you can rent a canoe, kayak, rowboat or pedal boat right at the park. Don’t forget to bring your rod and reel to catch dinner!
Can’t bear to leave? You can camp out at one of the park’s 55 tent and RV sites, or rent one of 10 lean-tos. It’s the perfect way to extend your beach vacation a little longer.
Don't miss your chance to check out this unbelievably pretty sandy beach and park in Vermont this season. You'll want to go back again and again.
