With a range of differing terrain, beautiful mountains, and stunning landscapes, it's easy to see that Vermont is such a great place for hiking. But, it isn't always easy finding fun and safe hikes in the wintertime with all the snow and ice around. However, the Donahue Sea Caves trail, a short, moderate out and back cave trail in Vermont, is a perfect hiking trail during winter and spring, and the inspiring views inside the cave will make you feel like you've entered a different world, a bizarre and astounding underground world. Let's check this place out and see why it's one of the most scenic places in Vermont!
The Donahue Sea Caves are located between North Ave. and Vt Route 127 right across from Burlington High School.
The Donahue Sea Caves is a short, moderately trafficked out and back trail at just over a half-mile long.
Inside the caves, you'll be treated to astonishing views of the interior of the cave.
The entry is easy to miss so keep your eyes peeled for the entrance.
Currently, the water in the cave is not frozen over so you will not be able to venture all the way in and explore the cave, but you can still find amazing views.
This short walk is a great wintertime excursion. Bring ice traction cleats for your boots in case the trail is still icy.
