Are you looking for an easy trail that will take you somewhere awesome? This fun and scenic hike is the perfect way to get a dose of nature and see a beautiful waterfall — and all without too much exertion!
Here’s what you need to know about what might be one of the most beautiful waterfall hikes in Vermont.
The Falls of Lana Trail near Salisbury is one of the most charming forest hikes in the state. Though it may not be a secret, it’s definitely worth checking out.
The best part of this hike is that it will take you to a series of stunning cascades without too much fuss. In fact, the journey to the base of the lower falls is just 0.7 miles.
Strap on your hiking boots and wander for just about 30 minutes to reach the cascades. The streaming water is beautiful in any weather but is especially pretty after heavy rainfall.
If you choose to go on, you can also reach the upper falls with a bit more effort. The entire round-trip to all the cascades is about four miles.
The hike is a great choice for families with smaller kids, novice hikers, or anyone who just prefers a shorter walk to a day-long haul. You should be sure to wear sturdy shoes and pack plenty of water if it’s hot out.
This trail is probably best tackled between March and November. The foliage looks great in the spring and summer, but also truly shines in the fall. You’re free to bring your pooches on this trail, but they need to be secured on a leash. Pups will love splashing in the shallows!
