Waterfalls are simply spectacular, and lucky for us Vermont is full of them! What's best about these natural wonders is that each season brings a new life to the falls. Spring brings gushing water, summer finds people enjoying the swimming holes, fall brings a calming flow, and winter - well winter brings ice! These frozen waterfalls in Vermont are simply magnificent.
1. Bingham Falls in Stowe.
A short but steep hike leads straight to the glorious Bingham Falls. Be sure to keep a close eye on your kids at this one.
2. Moss Glen Falls in Granville.
A roadside treat is Moss Glen Falls in Granville. This stunner should be seen in every season! A must-visit for anyone who loves the beauty of a waterfall.
3. Bartlett Falls in Bristol.
This photo of Bartlett Falls was captured somewhere between the snow falling and the river freezing, but we love it all the same.
4. Stowe Mountain Resort.
Always keep your eyes peeled... Waterfalls can pop up in unexpected places at Stowe Mountain Resort, which is located in Stowe, one of the best small towns in America.
5. Bittersweet Falls in Weybridge.
An up-close look at the icicles frozen at Bittersweet Falls. You can see these falls from a wide spot on Bittersweet Falls Road, too.
6. Neshobe Falls in Brandon.
Perhaps the most scenic time to visit these falls is when they are frozen over.
7. Waits River Falls in Bradford.
This is a really nice place to stop to see the beautiful Waits River Falls.
In the spring it's roaring and in the winter it ices over and is just a wonder to look at. There are lots of nice little restaurants in the area or go simply head over to the general store to grab a sandwich. This is a perfect spot for handicapped access because you can see the falls right from the car.
8. Somerset Reservoir.
Just beyond the waterfall at the Somerset Reservoir, you can find this wondrous sight. With enormous force, the water gushes out of large pipes and sprays the air which ices the trees upon contact. This is truly an amazing sight to see.
